WOODSTOCK POLICE MAKE ARREST IN SERIES OF ENTERING AUTOS

January 28th, 2010 7:30 AM

Woodstock Police detectives arrested Joshua Ostrander, 22, of Woodstock today after tips from citizens helped to identify him, in surveillance footage, as one of the individuals attempting to use a credit card at Target in Woodstock which was reported stolen from the recent series of entering autos in Brookshire Subdivision.

Detectives have identified the other two individuals in the surveillance footage and are attempting to make contact with them as they are wanted for questioning.

Police officials say this is a prime example of the effective partnership between the local law enforcement, the media, and the citizens of the community working together to make Woodstock a safer place.

Break-ins/Theft. IMPORTANT!

January 18th, 2010 5:23 PM

We have had numerous reports of car break in’s last night. The suspects are removing only specific valuables and attempting to use them as soon as possible.

The Woodstock PD is advising that all residents remove their valuables from their vehicles, park in their garages when possible, and lock all doors. They will be stepping up patrols as well as investigating the situation. If you see anything suspicious please do not hesitate to contact the police.

In addition, if you have had, or believe your car may have been broken into please call 911 and report it immediately. Do not disturb the vehicle if possible and help the police find the suspects.

Right outside downtown Woodstock, Serenade had a reported 40 break ins so this is obviously a situation we would like resolved.

If your card has been used, have the card #, the time and location as well so the police can obtain the surveillance information.

If you have any additional information or if you notice anything suspicious please contact the police.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We will keep everyone posted as much as possible.

Thank you

Break in at the front Clubhouse

November 13th, 2009 8:18 AM

Hi Friends and Neighbors,

I wanted to inform you all that yesterday morning around 4am there was a break in at the front clubhouse. The perpetrators entered through the pool room and cut a hole in the kitchen wall. They attempted to steal the flat screen but apparently could not get it off the wall. They set off the alarm and Woodstock PD responded incredibly fast.

If you noticed any suspicious activity or have any information that would be helpful please contact Detective Garcia with the Woodstock PD at 770.592.6030.

We do believe it was an inside job due to the area that they entered through and knowing the layout with the alarm. We are being proactive to beef up the security at the clubhouse since there were not any motion sensors.
I would encourage everyone to bring this to their neighbors attention, keep an eye out for suspicious activity and report it immediately as well as utilizing your alarm systems.. The police department will once again have an increased presence in the neighborhood.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you
