What's New This Week @ Brookshire

Water restrictions changed

From: Jeff Moon, City Manager
Subject: Woodstock Amends Water Restrictions

GEORGIA’S DROUGHT IS OVER! OUTDOOR WATERING IS ALLOWED. Due to significant rainfall and improved water supplies, Georgia’s rivers and streams have rebounded. Effective June 10, 2009, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) issued a non-drought schedule for outdoor water use for the first time since June 2006. Under a non-drought schedule, outdoor water use is allowed three days a week on assigned days using odd and even-numbered addresses. The Mayor and Council voted at the June 15th City Council meeting to lift our drought restrictions to be in line with the State.

Odd-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Even-numbered and unnumbered addresses are allowed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Water use may occur at any time of the day on the assigned days, but to be water efficient, landscape watering should not occur between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The non-drought schedule is included in the Rules for Outdoor Water Use. No outdoor watering on Friday’s is permitted.

Launch Schedule for Website

June 16th, 2009 3:06 PM

All - here is the plan for launching our website. 1 sign still exists from the original site. I will be ordering new signs that are more attractive to push traffic.

We will announce two evenings, one during the week and one on a weekend to host a 1 hour training course on how to maximize and use the site, a 45 minute Q&A will follow the training course.

A Newsletter will be sent out summarizing the latest news and announce the launch of the site.

The Yahoo chat board will be posted with a countdown for the shutting down of the Yahoo Chatboard. The Chatboard will exist with a link notifying everyone of the new website.

Moving forward all new residents will recieve a letter from CMA welcoming them to the neighborhood as well as informing them about the website and how to communicate within the neighborhood.

I welcome any feedback or suggestions.

Thanks

John Szczesniak

Welcome Beta Testers

June 16th, 2009 2:59 PM

Welcome to Brookshire 2.0! Thank you for helping us go through this final phase of testing before we go live with this site.

We hope you are as excited with this as we are. The new site offers endless options of functionality as well as the ability to expand. Various tools and ways to communicate will help us expedite information as well as serving as a central resource for our neighborhood.

Your task is simple. Spend some time over the next couple of days driving the site. Click through links, attempt to send emails (label test), check all areas and simply report back to us, as often as you like;

  • How do you feel about the site?
  • How did the site function for you?
  • What was the most difficult part to navigate?
  • Did everything work correctly?
  • Are there areas you would like us to improve on?
  • Would you visit this site regularly? If not, why?

Thank you again, your feedback is valuable in launching a successful new Web home for us all to use.

I would also like to thank our web master, Kit Baty, for all of his work past and continued!
